Cultural Notes
To make this more interesting travel for members who participate, we give some information which may help to better understand the environment we're going to discover.

The complex range of Castell'Azzara facing east on the great valley of the Paglia and is the most important mountain range that meets in the south of Mount Amiata, and the first plateau tuff Sorano, Sovana and Pitigliano from which it is well known for the harshness of the forms and the height of the mountains.

The peaks that make it are:

- Mount Civitella mt.1107 above sea level, which takes its name from the top of the mountain closest to the center ( Civitas = City);

- Monte Penna mt.1086 probably named for the optical effect that makes it look like the highest being detached from the other peaks seen from a distance and makes him look like a dart thrown in the sky;

- Mount Nebbiaio mt.1086 being exposed to the southwest on certain days and to cover the first and last fog to clear.

The natural environment has always been the main wealth of the territory, now recognized reserve of Monte Penna, an area protected by regional laws and Community which occupies much of the surface of the Municipality.

In the area of \u200b\u200bCastell'Azzara there are traces of human habitation since Prestor. The metal deposits were exploited as early as the Neolithic period, as demonstrated by tools found in the mines of Siele of Cornacchino, and those found in the caves of the mountain.

Legend has it that the name derives from the fact that Castell'Azzara Castle has been played at dice or "Zara" (game time).

From the thirteenth century was owned by Conti Aldobrandeschi, then long contended with the Basques and the town of Orvieto.

from 1439 followed the fate of the County of Santa Fiora Sforza family until 1633, when the county was ceded to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.

Reflection on the economy and civil

by Charles Pantaleo
President Association Center for Studies on New Generations

If capitalism is made to coincide with the West is to create a closed system of thought and action whose consequences are plain for everyone, starting dall'approccio individualistic. Hence we should recover the tradition of civil economy to rethink a new social market economy that recognizes the person in their reports. In the economic perspective, which assumed the characteristic of being paradigmatic of modern man, it is now more necessary than ever to hold more than the principle of efficiency and equity, including that of reciprocity, founding and unifying the other two and the very possibility of cohabitation. It is this very plurality of institutional forms dell'intraprendere you build a market more civilized but also more competitive. The term
Civil Economy, Antonio Genovesi would characterize his new economics considered not only as a tool to help increase the material wealth in line with the mercantilist tradition. Smith went over the conditions for which the impersonal relations and mutually indifferent were the basis of considerations of individual utility and collective. While "eating", assuming and hoping for the essential role of trust and the gift by the then economic science has relegated them to a separate area, a philanthropic or welfare, regardless of the necessary regeneration. But to do this serves an instrumental reciprocity as a lever to achieve the "public happiness" and found the reform of political and social institutions, creating conditions to become a place where brotherhood and grow gratuity, which is a place of humanization and civilization.

With commentary by Joseph Amari, Attilio Pasetto, Enzo Mataloni, Roberto Carlini and Charles Pantaleo response.

West Premises to a critique of the theory economicaIntervista Fabrizio Mittiga on Piero Sraffa

by Charles Pantaleo
Association President Centre for Studies on New Generations

To continue the reflection on the contribution of Italian economic thought and to overcome some study and teaching of the economy often unilateral and formalistic, we dedicate this reflection to the economist Piero Sraffa. We interviewed Fabrizio Mittiga, economic consultant company, graduated from the University of Rome in 1978 with a thesis in political economy, whose rapporteur was the executor of P. Sraffa. In 2006 he also received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Nice in France.
The author has treated, as mentioned, Piero Sraffa (1898-1983) graduated in 1920 with Luigi Einaudi preparing a thesis on "The monetary inflation in Italy and after the war." He became a professor at Perugia in 1923, he won a chair in Cagliari in 1926. In the Fascist regime, he moved to Cambridge in England in 1927 at the invitation of Keynes. Initially involved in the monetary and banking problems (The Bank Crisis in Italy, 1922) and then to develop a critique of the Marshallian theory of the enterprise and industry ("On the relation between cost and quantity produced, 1925) and running the line of forms of market research, especially on imperfect competition ("The law of returns in a competitive environment," 1926).
early thirties has undertaken an extensive research work aims to recreate the setting of the classical economists. She edited the critical edition of the works of David Ricardo (1951-55). His work "Production of Commodities by Means of Commodities" (1960) has opened a wide debate within the economic theory is a radical critique of neoclassical theory (marginal) dominant, in particular with regard to questions concerning the value and income distribution.
